In January of 2004 I lost a dear friend, and the world lost a truly remarkable artist, when Kasia Jablonska died of cancer.

She and I worked together -- we collaborated on pieces, she modeled for me, and we had an ongoing, almost daily, dialog about art, life and consciousness. I miss her terribly; this series is my response to her passing. A broad range of emotion has emerged in the work -- some pieces are elegiac, some celebratory, others angry -- many of them read almost like before and after photos: the richness of life then, the hard hollow spaces now...
